Program Notes: Uralte Henseleichen - two violins, electric guitar, marimba This piece evolves from a short string quartet composed during the Spring of 2012. The instrumentation explores the prevalence of traditional instruments and elements amidst a modern musical soundscape. The composition for the piece began in Hensel Park in Bryan, Texas and ended on a bus ride across the German countryside. The piece is inspired by the existence of ancient elements of nature amidst human-made objects and modern technology.  back
