Program Notes: Weltschallwelle - zithryan, cuatro, recorded group improvisation, fixed media This piece is inspired by the interconnectedness of human society and the overlapping of frames of time in different locations through the capture of sound. A recording of an improvisation session and field recordings from four different countries were combined with a background of processed material from these same sounds to form part of a fixed media track. All of these moments blend with a live improvised performance of the zithryan and later a cuatro to provide an additional layer in real time.
